Define the Objective of your Site: Is it to generate more income? Develop name recognition? Sell products to consumers? Reach your network of wholesale vendors? Defining your goals will help shape the focus, design, and navigation of your site.
Define Your Audience: Similar to defining your goals, it's also important to define who your audience is. Will you be selling products to the public? Providing business-to-business services? Offering expertise or information to other professionals in the field?
Make a Budget for the Site: Once you have an objective, you can figure out how much a website will contribute to your business goals and you can budget accordingly.
